Hello and welcome to The Witches Heart. My name is Violet  River and I am a solitary Pagan from the UK.

I have been practicing for roughly 10 years now and finally decided to create myself a website to share what I have learned over the years. Anyone who visits this site is welcome to e-mail me, I will try to answer any questions to the best of my ability and I will help where I can.

If you have something that you would like to share with others but don't have the time to make your own website, feel free to e-mail it to me and I will put it up here with full credit to you. I will accept poems, meditation and spells, anything as long as it is your own work.

What Are We All About?

"Paganism is the broad term given to describe the polytheistic religions and spiritual practices of pre-Christian Europe.

It encompasses a lot of different traditions within it, most notably; Witchcraft, Wicca, Druidism and Shamanism. There are also many sub-divisions of these, often referred to as 'paths'.
Generally they all involve an awareness and respect for mother nature, with the God and Goddess at their core. Spells, meditations and rituals are actively practiced, whereby the practitioner is attuning themselves with the world around them.

Since the later 20th century the term 'Neopaganism' has become popular as way to describe this collection of faiths. "
